Browse our website and you are browsing the official online publication of Fairmont State University.  The Web & Media Systems department manages content, design, layout and functionality of the website.   Members of the department consistently promote the University’s mission, vision and image to keep current faculty, staff and students informed and to generate interest in the institution among potential faculty, staff and students.

Intranet

When students, faculty and staff log into myCampus,  they enter an online source of information specific to their University needs.  The Web & Media Systems team compiles department content that is relevant for students and employees of Fairmont State University.  Administrative information, campus announcements, and university requirements are managed and displayed within myCampus.

Social Media

Like our facebook page and become part of a social media effort by Web and Media Systems to provide a way to keep you engaged with Fairmont State whether you are on campus or off campus.  Workers maintain facebook posts, from images to announcements to topical promotions, designed to extend a campus community beyond Locust Avenue in Fairmont, WV.

Email and streaming server outage this weekend

IT will be performing important server maintenance this weekend, affecting the following two systems.

The streaming server will be unavailable from midnight tonight until Saturday at noon. The streaming server stores video and other media used in courses, so those will be unavailable during this period.

FSU email for faculty and staff will be unavailable from midnight Saturday night until noon on Sunday. You will not lose any email, but you will be unable to check email during this time. Student webmail will not be affected.

Problems emailing students?

Update: If this solution doesn't resolve the problem, please contact the Teaching & Learning Commons for further assistance, x4810.

Some people have reported that they are getting bounced emails when emailing students.

The problem appears to be a cached contact issue. We made some changes on the mail server and the contact stored in Outlook is looking for the file we removed. We made this change to resolve other email issues, but this is a side-effect of that fix.
