Infopath to Webform Conversion

IT is in the process of converting Infopath files to webforms.  During this process, Infopath files will continue to remain available.  After each form is converted, there will be a grace period allotted to continue accepting the Infopath form.

Web Site Social Media Integration

The latest upgrade to the Fairmont State University web site has enabled some exciting new features.  Departments that are utilizing social media, such as Facebook and Twitter can have the information seemlessly integrated to their site.

An example of this integration can be viewed by visiting the Falcon Center.  They have their Twitter feed integrated to their site to engage and connect with users.

Student email addresses added to Global Address List

FSU student email addresses were replaced in the Global Address List (GAL) last Friday. By now, Outlook should have updated your GAL, and you should see those emails. If not, please see below.

How to update Outlook GAL

To manually update the GAL, please do the following.

 

Open Outlook and Click File in the upper left corner.

 

Choose Account Settings, and then Download Address Book.

Has an email to a student bounced?

IT made some changes over the summer to improve service to student email. This change may result in some incorrectly returned email. If you email a Fairmont State University student and get a bounced email, please do one of the following.

System availability August 1 and 2

Due to system maintenance, some web-based services, including Blackboard, may be intermittently unavailable August 1 and 2.

Update: As of 12:30 a.m., authentication to Blackboard was available again. Other web-based services may experience temporary unavailability through August 2.

 

We are also experiencing a Respondus outage that affects Respondus, Study Mate, and Lockdown browser. We have a ticket open with the Respondus help desk.
