Blackboard outage, November 18

We experienced a partial Blackboard outage November 18, from approximately 1:30 p.m. until about 2:15 p.m. Some users might have been unable to log in or may have lost connectivity during this time window.

Network Drive Outage

Information Technology Department staff are investigating an issue within the network drives (U: drives, M: drives, V: drives). These drives will be unavailable until this issue is resolved.

Blackboard outage November 5 and 6

Update: We will be taking another outage Thursday night, November 6, from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

 

Blackboard will be unavailable tonight from 11:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. in order to perform necessary maintenance.

Important Server Maintenance: Outages Expected

IT will be performing important server maintenance this evening. The following outages are expected:

Departmental shared drives (M: drive) will be unavailable from 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 04, 2014, until maintenance is complete.

M: drives are expected to be up and functioning no later than 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, November 05, 2014.

You will not lose any data saved to these drives. No other systems will be affected by this maintenance.

Big Blue Button outage

We experienced an outage of Big Blue Button today from approximately 3:45 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

We are working with our hosting provider to investigate the issue.

Email maintenance

During the week of October 13, IT will be making necessary changes to the email system. Each day, we'll update MyCampus with the changes and likely effects.

Weekend IT Maintenance; Outages Expected

IT will be performing important server maintenance this weekend, affecting the following:

Departmental shared drives (M: drive) will be unavailable from 6 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2014, until migration is complete.

U: drives will be unavailable beginning once the M: drive maintenance is complete.

These outages may continue until Sunday, September 28, 2014, at 6 p.m.

No other systems will be affected by this maintenance.

Blackboard and Big Blue Button outage

Update: Both systems are available again, as of 6:30.

We are currently experiencing an outage for Blackboard and Big Blue Button. Our hosting provider is aware of the situation, and they are working on the problem. The outage began around 4:05 this afternoon.

IT will post an update here when we have further details. 

Big Blue Button outage

We experienced a Big Blue Button outage from Friday evening on August 29 through the afternoon of September 2.

If you attempted to save a recording during this time window, there is a chance the recording was lost.

WVNET has made changes to the system to address the problem. Please contact the Teaching and Learning Commons at 304-367-4810 if you have questions.

System availability August 1 and 2

Due to system maintenance, some web-based services, including Blackboard, may be intermittently unavailable August 1 and 2.

Update: As of 12:30 a.m., authentication to Blackboard was available again. Other web-based services may experience temporary unavailability through August 2.

 

We are also experiencing a Respondus outage that affects Respondus, Study Mate, and Lockdown browser. We have a ticket open with the Respondus help desk.
