I chose to attend Fairmont State because it is a small campus and close to home. When I took a tour of Fairmont State I liked how everything was on campus and not spread out. I also liked how the classes were small and did not have hundreds of students in one class.
What has most surprised me since arriving at FSU is how nice all of the facilities are and how the classes are about the same size as they were in high school. I always imagined having hundreds of other students in the class, not just twenty or thirty.
My experience so far in the Honors Program has been an enjoyable one. Everyone I have associated with that are in the Honors Program have been very nice and helpful. The events that have been held have been very fun, and I am looking forward to participating in future events and trips.
Advice I would give to a high school senior choosing a college is to look for a school that is small, close to home, offers your major, and has the amenities you need to get help when you need it.
The difference between my Honors courses and high school courses are my Honors professors challenge me more and concentrate deeper on the topic at hand.
