Hometown:
Monongah, West Virginia
High School:
North Marion High School
Why Attend?:

To some, I may have chosen Fairmont State for the wrong reason. I came to play golf, or so I thought. While caught up in just thinking about athletics, I soon realized I made a great decision before I even showed up. I subconsciously chose to come to stay at home and to share the college experience with my closest friends. It has worked out quite nicely.

Most Surprised:

Homework has caught me by surprise. I expected to do it, I just didn’t expect so much. I’ve never done homework before so it’s kind of like shell shock.

Experiences:

The Honors Program is and has been great. It has already opened up many opportunities for me now and in the future. They show me much respect and treat me with dignity. It also seems as though we have almost a preferential treatment.

Advice:

For those of you beginning the college choosing process, take it seriously but don’t stress. Although it may seem like a tremendous amount of work and deliberation, it is truly going to be the best time of your life. Just make sure you think things through for the right reasons and for what makes you happy. If you do that, your decision will come naturally and it’ll be the right one.

Difference between courses:

This Honors Program at FSU is exponentially better than in high school. We didn’t get much of anything for being an honors student in high school. In college, they make it feel like all that extra work paid off.
