Hometown:
Saint Marys, West Virginia
High School:
Saint Marys High School
Why Attend?:

I chose Fairmont State because it was highly recommended by many of my teachers in high school. Once I visited the campus I understood why. I felt very comfort throughout the entire campus and the idea of the small class size.

Most Surprised:

I am most surprised at how welcoming and helpful everyone is here. All the advisors have tried to answer any questions that I or the other freshmen have had.  Everyone has tried to ease this frightening transition into college life.

Experiences:

So far In the Honors Program, everyone has been very welcoming and helpful. The upper classmen are willing to help answer any question that I or the other freshmen have. The first Honors events have been great experiences that have enabled me to meet and get to know other honors students.

Advice:

I would advise a high school senior to visit multiple college campuses before making a final decision.  Visiting many different campuses will enable them to figure out where they feel the most comfortable.  Most importantly, I would advise them to make their final decision based on the college they prefer not the college their friends have chosen.

Difference between courses:

The main difference I have noticed between the two is the expectations of the professors and the quality of the lectures. They realize that we are capable of understanding the main point of the lecture without watering down the facts in order for us to comprehend.
