Hometown:
Terra Alta, West Virginia
High School:
Preston High School
Why Attend?:

There were a few reasons that I chose FSU. I got the Promise Scholarship which requires you as a student to attend a school in West Virginia, and this is the school that stood out the most to me. It is not too big yet not too small which makes all the difference to me, and the campus is really nice and not as spread out as some schools in the area.

Most Surprised:

Fairmont State made me feel at home here from the moment I stepped foot on campus the first day. Welcome Weekend really stood out to me because it helped me meet new people as well as get to know my way around.

Experiences:

The Honors Program has been pretty fun so far with the different events that have already been held in the first week of school. The classes have been much smaller than I expected as well as fun and closer as a group. Everyone that I have met in the Honors Program has been willing to help with whatever I may need. I am looking forward to what is to come.

Advice:

You should definitely consider first whether or not the college offers courses that coincide with your intended major. Also, look at the financial aid you may be able to receive from the school, how far away it is from your home, and the size of the school are things to think about when deciding on a college.

Difference between courses:

Honors courses so far have been smaller in size compared to my high school classes. Also, the professors here definitely expect more from you since it is an Honors course.
