Hometown:
Beverly, West Virginia
High School:
Elkins High School
Why Attend?:

I chose to attend Fairmont State because the tuition was lower at Fairmont State than the tuition of the other colleges I applied. Fairmont State is also the only college that I applied to that offered me in-state tuition. In conclusion, I chose Fairmont State because it was cheapest.

Most Surprised:

I was surprised when I arrived at Fairmont State that I actually have so much free time. This surprised me because I have never had hours between classes that I didn’t have to do something during.

Experiences:

In the Honors Program, I have gotten a better opportunity to take the classes that I want. I also have had the chance to talk to many upperclassmen about the classes that they are taking and their experiences in the classes that I am taking now. It is nice to be able to talk to the other students about their opinion on the classes in hindsight.

Advice:

Research your scholarships so that you know for sure what the requirements are. Look into alternative scholarships, particularly from the colleges that you are considering attending.

Difference between courses:

The only difference that I have noticed so far in my Honors courses and my high school courses is that in my Honors courses we aren’t given a worksheet to do in an hour and then not expected to do anything else after we finish.
