M.S. Nursing Degree General Information:
The Master of Science in Nursing at Fairmont State University is offered in collaboration with the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Marshall University, Huntington, WV. At the present time there are two tracks available for BSN Nurses who desire a Masters in Nursing: Nursing Education track and the Nursing Administration track.
The Nursing Education Area of Emphasis prepares graduates to assume the teacher role in various educational contacts including curriculum development, clinical teaching and supervision, classroom, seminar and distance learning. Graduates will integrate the roles of teacher, scholar and collaborator.
The Nursing Administrator Area of Emphasis prepares graduates for leadership roles in Administration of Clinical Services in a variety of community-based or acute care provider agencies. The graduates of this program are eligible to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification for nursing administration, advanced, depending on their experience and stage of professional development.
Admission Requirement:
