Win a Full-Ride Scholarship!
For the second year, West Virgina high school seniors have the opportunity to compete for Fairmont State University's and Pierpont Community & Technical College's premier academic scholarships that cover tuition and fees, room and board and a $1,000 textbook stipend.
FSU's full-ride scholarship is called the Charles J. McClain Scholarship.
Pierpont's full-ride scholarship is called the Board of Governors Scholarship.Here's how you can join the competition:

Meet the requirements. To qualify, you must be a current high school senior who lives in West Virginia. You must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 and have an ACT composite of 26 or SAT composite of 1190. You have to be a PROMISE Scholarship recipient. |

Apply for admission. To be considered, you have to apply for admission to FSU or Pierpont. (Your admissions file must be complete, which means you have to complete your general application and send us your high school transcript and test scores.) To apply, click here. Complete a scholarship application. You also need to include an essay with your application. Please write an essay (450 words or less; double-spaced) about how this scholarship would help you achieve your educational goal.. |

Next Steps This is a competitive scholarship. Once you have applied for admission and for the scholarship by following the steps above, you will be contacted to schedule an on-campus interview. Charles J. McClain and Board of Governors Scholars will be chosen based on their academic qualifications, community service activities and leadership involvement in conjunction with your essay, admissions counselor recommendation and personal interview. Only three FSU students and one Pierpont student will be selected to receive this premier scholarship. |
