Our team of web software developers is expanding. We are ready today to hire two new web software developers to work with our cutting edge internal operations systems. We have custom developed all of our operational software - our customer support systems, billing systems, provisioning systems, account management systems, sales prospecting systems, accounting systems, and more. You'll be working with individuals throughout our business to improve existing systems and to create new systems to increase efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness - and then turning these plans into reality by developing the software you design.
All of our software is web based and is built using ColdFusion with a Microsoft SQL Server backend.

Responsibilities:

Develop complex web-based solutions for our intranet, internal systems, and customer projects. Developer will be given system requirements and is responsible for designing and implementing the solution, including database design, programming, and testing. Developer may work on multiple projects simultaneously and will either work individually or with other members of the team.

Requirements:

Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, or similar.
Experience with web development using ColdFusion (may substitute ASP, PHP, or similar). Must be able to demonstrate applications developed. Will accept experience from internships or other applied experience while attaining degree for recent graduates.

Details:

Based in our Fairmont, WV field office, this lead Applications Software Engineer/Developer for the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), will work within a unit of the Computer Intrusion Section of the Cyber Division. Responsibilities will include all aspects of software development for the Internet/Intranet applications of the IC3's systems and being a principal member of the integrated technical project team responsible for conceptualizing, designing, developing, and deploying the automated information systems of the IC3.
Additional responsibilities will include design, develop, implementation, and supporting major new advances in a state-of-the-art automation environment to solve FBI support requirements pertaining to IC3. You will plan strategies and direct activities for IC3 computer systems to allow for design and development of an automated system to receive and process Internet crime complaints. And perform or lead lower level staff and/or contractor personnel in the performance of specialized information technology assignments and serve as a consultant to the IC3 Project Manager.
The candidate will be responsible for all activities associated with web development, to include but not be limited to, performing work associated with all aspects of Internet functions; development of the browser-based applications for the IC3's information systems; development, management and maintenance of the Internet/Intranet services at the IC3; and implementation and management of the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) communications services within extra-net applications.
Technical experience required by the position includes experience using information technology to analyze, design, implement and maintain complex components of information systems that support business operations; writing source code, with a demonstrated hands-on proficiency in C# or other Microsoft.NET-compatible language, Java, or other object-oriented programming language; adapting existing components; compiling, linking, and testing the developed components as units; fixing defects identified during unit testing and re-executing unit tests to verify the expected behavior; performing analysis and conceptual design on complex system components and ensuring designs are accurately documented and receiving the appropriate stakeholder approval; providing appropriate support; and defining the requirements of a system, including the functional and non-functional requirements.

NOTE:

Be aware that the position requires someone who can hit the ground running to address all the web development-related needs of the IC3. The IC3 has its own network separate from the internal FBI network, hosts and maintains two Internet-facing websites, handles special projects for FBI field offices upon request by developing and hosting cyber crime surveys and victim surveys, maintains a database containing more than 1,000,000 cyber crime-related complaints, and receives and transmits data over the Internet via secure methods with other government agencies and members of industry.
