The Fairmont State Alumni Association invites FSU alumni and friends to attend a special event during the 2016 Mountain East Conference Tournament in Charleston.
The Alumni Association will host a social, presented by Hendrickson & Long, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Celsius Lounge, 212 Hale St., Charleston. Transportation will be provided to the Civic Center for evening session games. Admission to the social is free, but gifts to the Fairmont Fund are encouraged.
The Fairmont State athletic department will be offering a $1 general admission ticket to any fan that donates a non-perishable food or personal care item at Saturday’s basketball doubleheader against Shepherd.
The doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. with the women’s game and will be followed by the men’s contest at approximately 4 p.m. Stations will be set up at both gates on Saturday to collect items as fans enter the arena.
Students, faculty and fans are invited to the Falcon Center at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, to celebrate the success of the men's and women's basketball teams this season. The celebration will take place in front of The Nickel, which is located on the second floor of the Falcon Center.
Coaches from both teams and President Rose are expected to congratulate the players and address the fans for exceptional 2012-13 seasons.
Fairmont State University students have an opportunity to ride a 55-passenger bus to Charleston today, March 2, to watch the Fighting Falcons men's and women's basketball teams compete in WVIAC Championship games.
The bus leaves at 10 a.m. from the parking lot beside Duvall-Rosier Field. Students should arrive at 9:30 a.m.; seats are first-come, first-served. There is no cost for riding the bus, but students will need to bring $5 for game tickets.
FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Due to transportation problems for Ohio State-Newark, tonight's season opener between the Falcons and the Titans has been cancelled. There is no make-up date for the teams at this point, although the teams are working on trying to play this weekend. Log on to www.fightingfalcons.com for updated information.
The West Virginia Hoop Group Jam Fest will bring thousands of young athletes and their families to Fairmont today, July 14, and Thursday, July 15. Teams will also be competing in Morgantown on Friday, July 16.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Fairmont State's men's and women's basketball teams will be participating in the 2010 NCAA tournament. This marks the first time as NCAA members the programs have made the tournament in the same year. The FSU men earned the eight seed in the Atlantic region and will take on Indiana (Pa.) on March 13. Fresh off their WVIAC Championship the women's team also earned an eight seed and will take on the one seed Gannon on March 12.
