Fairmont State University’s Masquers and Town and Gown Theatre is scheduling auditions for “I Hate Hamlet” and “Far Away.”
Auditions will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 8 and 9, in the Wallman Hall Theatre on the Fairmont State campus. The productions will be performed in late February and mid-April 2015.
The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts offers a gift to Fairmont with a performance of “It’s A Wonderful Life.” Based on the classic holiday film starring Jimmy Stewart, director Troy Snyder has adapted the screenplay for Readers’ Theatre.
The Town & Gown production runs Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. in the Wallman Hall Theatre. The story is inspired by “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” the classic American short story written by Washington Irving. The production is directed by Francene Kirk; the music director is R.J. Nestor, and the choreographer is Susan Cato.

A Fairmont State University student has been selected for an internship under the Disney College Program.
Erika A. Johnson, a junior at Fairmont State and a member of the Honors Program, is majoring in Theatre. The internship runs from Aug. 1, 2014, through Jan. 7, 2015. As part of the internship, Johnson will complete a three-credit class along with work in the Costuming Department.
