Summer Classes Give Students a Head Start for Fall

Taking summer classes at Fairmont State University can help students get a head start on the fall semester and bring their graduation date closer. A wide range of courses are offered in Fairmont, Clarksburg and online

Dempsey Recognized for Contributions to Graduate Education

A Fairmont State University dean has been named as the 2013 recipient of the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools (CSGS) Award for Outstanding Contributions to Graduate Education in the Southern Region.

Dr. Van Dempsey, Dean of the School of Education, Health and Human Performance at FSU, was presented with the award on Feb. 23 at the 42nd CSGS Annual Meeting in Greenville, S.C.

FSU to Host W.Va. Foreign Language Teachers Association Conference

Foreign language teachers from across the state, representing a variety of world languages and grade levels, will attend the annual meeting, which focuses this year on building empathy through ownership.

Fairmont State University’s outstanding faculty members were honored during the Recognition of Faculty Achievement ceremony for their exemplary efforts throughout the 2011-2012 academic year.

“Fairmont State truly is set apart by this tremendous faculty. While we can tout an excellent faculty-to-student ratio, as compared to larger institutions, that statistic only becomes meaningful when we consider the quality of our faculty,” said FSU President Maria Rose.
