Fishing Team Wins Northern Conference Event

Two members of the Fishing Falcons team, Bryson Grimes of Kingwood and Aaron Davis of Pleasant Valley, won the FLW College Fishing Northern Conference event on the Chesapeake Bay on July 12.

With five bass weighing 19 pounds, 7 ounces, the first place finish earned the club $2,000 and advanced the team to the FLW College Fishing Northern Conference Invitational tournament. Grimes is a senior at FSU majoring in Criminal Justice, and Davis is a freshman at FSU majoring in Occupational Safety.

The Fishing Falcons Will Dieffenbauch, Civil Engineering Technology senior, left, and Ryan Radcliff, Criminal Justice senior, placed sixth in the 2013 FLW College Fishing National Championship at Beaver Lake in Rogers, Ark., on April 20 and 21. Complete results can be found at CollegeFishing.com. Twenty-five teams from across the country competed in 20 qualifying events and five conference championship tournaments, and the top five teams from each conference competed for the title of national champion in this three-day nationally televised event.

Fishing Falcons Win Northern Conference Championship

Two members of the Fairmont State University Fishing Falcons took top honors in the National Guard FLW College Fishing Northern Conference Championship, which was Sept. 13 through 15, at Philpott Lake in Martinsville, Va.

In addition to the tournament title and the opportunity to compete in the national championship, Wil Dieffenbauch, a Civil Engineering major from Hundred, and Ryan Radcliff, a Criminal Justice major from Parkersburg, won a brand new, fully rigged Ranger Z117 for their club.
