Fairmont State University faculty and students from the College of Liberal Arts attended the annual conference of the West Virginia Criminal Justice Educators’ Association on Nov.
The Fairmont State University Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host a Make-A-Wish reception and talk on Nov. 29 between the women’s and men’s basketball contests against West Liberty. The reception will involve a presentation from the North Central West Virginia chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation featuring Hannah Underwood, a recent recipient of a “Wish.”
The Department of Music of the Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts offers four upcoming concerts for music lovers in November and December.
Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College will participate in the nationally recognized International Education Week with events intended to celebrate diversity and internationalization.
Planned for the week of Nov. 14, International Education Week is organized by the Office of International Student Services and is co-sponsored by the International Education Committee, Office of Residence Life and International Student Organization.
Students have the opportunity to enter a contest to help name the bookstore on the shared main campus of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College. The contest is sponsored by the Bookstore Advisory Board, Student Government and the Campus Bookstore.

The School of Fine Arts and Town & Gown Players of Fairmont State University will present “Cabaret” by Joe Masteroff from Nov. 11 through 19 on the Wallman Hall stage. Directed by Troy Snyder,Associate Professor of Theatre, performances will take place in the Wallman Hall on the main FSU campus at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19 and at 2 p.m. on Nov. 13. The traditional Homecoming Parade for Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College presented by Student Government will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in downtown Fairmont. Student Government has selected FSU alumni Frank and Jane Gabor, as parade marshals.
With the theme, “Let Your Dreams Become Your Reality,” Homecoming 2011 for Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College, set for Oct. 24-29, will be a week packed with alumni, athletics, student and community events.
As part of the Celebration of Ideas Lecture Series and as part of Homecoming 2011 at Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College, Morris Morrison will speak on campus on Thursday, Oct. 20.
