Do you know a student attending FSU? The Fairmont State Student Alumni Association is looking for a charter group of students who are ready to take on a new chapter in FSU history. We need students who are energized and looking for a new way to interact with campus and the FSU alumni community.
In October, Fairmont State students called over 6,000 alumni and friends in an effort to reconnect them with FSU and raise support for the Fairmont Fund, which helps fund immediate needs of the university.
Fairmont State University officials honored BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Company for a gift that made possible the purchase of the new high technology scoreboard at Duvall-Rosier Field.
During half-time of the Fighting Falcons football game on Nov. 3, FSU officials recognized BrickStreet President and CEO Greg Burton and his wife Kim and BrickStreet Special Projects Consultant Skip Tarasuk with crystal awards and FSU logo jackets to officially dedicate the new scoreboard and to commemorate BrickStreet’s support of FSU Athletics.
The Fairmont State University Marching Band Stadium Review Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Colebank Hall Gym. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
The 2nd annual Blue Jean Ball was held on the Fairmont State campus in Colebank Hall on October 6, 2012. The event was a huge success and fun was had by all who attended.
The Fairmont State Alumni Association celebrated the golden anniversary of the Class of 1962 as part of Homecoming 2012. The event, sponsored by Wesbanco Bank, included many memories and reflections from class members.

Fairmont State gathered past athletes and friends to celebrate and induct The Class of 2012 into the Athletic Association’s Hall of Fame. Inductees included: Martha Ganoe (volleyball); Kristen Gattuso (women’s basketball); Haywood Highsmith (men’s basketball); George Opron (baseball); John Feronti (swimming); Jarrod Furgason (football); and Bill Stewart (football).

Fairmont State's Matt Wilmer hauled in a 19-yard touchdown pass from Bobby Vega to lift Fairmont State to a 54-47 win over Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon at Duvall-Rosier Field as Fairmont State celebrated Homecoming. During halftime, Rosemary Grimm and Maxx Myers were crowned King and Queen. Prior to the game, alumni, friends and students tailgated and joined in a variety of festivities.

During Homecoming 2012, six alumni were awarded Fairmont State Alumni Association’s highest honor—an alumni award. This year’s recipients included: Outstanding Young Alumna—Sergeant Michelle Cross ’00; Outstanding Young Alumnus—Patrick Snively ’99; Outstanding Alumna—Nancy Lewis Farley ’70; Outstanding Alumnus—Kenneth R. The traditional Homecoming Parade for Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College presented by Student Government scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in downtown Fairmont has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
A Pep Rally for the Fighting Falcons including the Spirit Stick Competition still will be held at 7 p.m. at Falcon Center Gym 1.
