The Fairmont State University Board of Governors has named Dr. Maria C. Bennett Rose as Interim President, and the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission today approved the appointment.
The Fairmont State University Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Valarie Huffman will present a concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Gaston Caperton Center, 501 West Main St., Clarksburg. Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.
The Fairmont State University Guitar Department will present an ensemble concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in Room 229 of Wallman Hall. Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.
Three West Virginia high school seniors have been named as recipients of Fairmont State University’s premier academic scholarship, the Charles J. McClain Scholarship.
Fairmont State University named Tara Brooks as Director of Multicultural Affairs on Jan. 3, 2011. She is also serving as an Associate Professor in the FSU School of Education and Health and Human Performance.
The Office of Student Affairs has been notified that, due to illness, author Rebecca Skloot will not be able to speak on campus as scheduled on Monday, April 18. If it is possible to reschedule for another date before the end of the semester, the Office of Student Affairs will pursue that opportunity.
