PROMISE Beyond Offers New Opportunities for PROMISE Scholars

West Virginia students who qualify as PROMISE Scholars can take advantage of a new scholarship program called PROMISE Beyond that aims to cover the full cost of tuition at Fairmont State University.

The scholarships awarded through this program would be a four-year commitment by the University, and students receiving these scholarships would be required to maintain a minimum GPA once enrolled at FSU.

“Paradise Lost," an epic poem written by John Milton will be read at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, at the Milton Marathon event located in the Ruth Ann Musick Library on the third floor outside of the Skylab.

“It is one of the most beautiful works in English Literature and one that grapples with questions of free will and religious faith,” said Donna J. Long, Professor of English.

Blacksmith Creates Decorative Iron Grill for Folklife Center Entrance

Those driving by or visiting the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center on the shared main campus of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College may have noticed a new addition to the entrance of the building.

The decorative iron grill work installed at the entrance of the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center during the fall 2012 semester was designed and executed by Greg Bray, Master Blacksmith and Executive Director of Pricketts Fort State Park.
