Auditions Scheduled for "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: The Broadway Musical"

Auditions for the Fairmont State University Town and Gown Summer Theatre production of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: The Broadway Musical” are planned for Wednesday, April 9, and Saturday, April 12. 

On Wednesday, April 9, in Room 229 of Wallman Hall, the acting and singing audition will begin at 6 p.m. The dance audition will begin at 7 p.m. On Saturday, April 12, in Room 229 of Wallman Hall, the acting and singing audition will begin at 1 p.m. The dance audition will begin at 4 p.m. Actors are asked to sign up for either Wednesday or Saturday. It is not necessary to audition both days. To schedule an audition, call (304) 367-4219.

Performances of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: The Broadway Musical” will run June 13, 14, 15, 18, 18, 20 and 21 in the Wallman Hall Theatre. 

The directors, Troy Snyder and R.J. Nestor, will be casting ensemble roles of all ages and ethnicities. Named roles are available for actors ages 14 and older with several strong roles for teens. Actors and singers planning to audition should prepare 16 to 32 bars of an up-tempo, musical theatre-style song. An additional ballad is optional. 

During the audition, actors will be asked to read from the script. Prepared comic or character-driven monologues are optional. Actors are asked to bring comfortable shoes and clothing for the dance audition. Actors who have a headshot and resume may bring them to the audition, but headshots and resumes are not required.
