| Who may use the facility? |
|
Anyone may use the facility! Students taking classes on the Fairmont State Main Campus may use the Falcon Center for free. The Falcon Center also offers memberships to cater to everyone. |
| Can people from the community use the facility? |
|
Yes! Year & semester memberships are available, as well as daily guest passes for guests accompanied by valid members. |
| Do I have to bring my Falcon ID Card every time I come to use the facility? |
|
Yes! Your Falcon ID Card must be presented with each visit. No ID, No entry. |
| What attire is required to participate in the programs? |
|
Proper athletic attire includes: athletics pants or shorts (denim, cargo pants, and other cotton pants with rivets or zippers or external snaps and buttons are prohibitted), athletic shirts (muscle shirts and sports bras must be covered by t-shirts when in the weight room), and athletic, non-marking shoes. Shirts, Shoes and Shorts/pants must be worn at all times. Patrons planning to swim, please come prepared with sandals or flip-flops to wear in the rest of the building. |

Yes, the Falcon Center has a facebook Fan Page in which anyone can join. We encourage all facebook users to become a “Fan” of the page to see the get the latest updates and events, pictures and news of the Falcon Center. |

What if I forgot my ID? May I still enter the facility? |
|
No. Proper membership identification is required for facility entry. Showing proper identification to the Entrance Attendant is the only acceptable method of proving your membership status. If you have forgotten your ID, you are allowed to have a member sponsor you by purchasing a guest pass. |

Why do I need to bring my ID to enter the facility if I’m a Member? |
|
All patrons are required to show their Falcon ID Card. Showing proper identification to the Entrance Attendant is the only acceptable method of proving your membership status. Students/Faculty/Staff & members who have lost their ID must get a replacement ID from ID services before they can use the facility. |

What are the Building Hours? |
|
All the building hours can be located on the HOURS webpage or by CLICKING HERE. Also located on the hours webpage is facility closings and special holiday hours. *Hours subject to change |

Who may purchase a self-sponsor pass? |
|
All Faculty/Staff may purchase a pass for themselves; a valid Fairmont State University I.D must be shown |

Do I need a lock for my locker? |
|
No, lockers are available for daily use and we provide locks for checkout at the reception desk. If using a daily locker, you may bring a lock but it must be taken off by the end of the day. If renting a locker for the semester (students) or a year (employees), we provide combination locks for the term. |

Are towels available? |
|
There are two types of towels offered in the Falcon Center: smaller hand towels for use in the fitness areas and larger shower towels issued at the Equipment Issue. Both types of towels are free of charge. |

Can I reserve space in the Recreation Center? |
|
Space may be reserved in various areas of the facility while keeping in mind that scheduled programs and the availability of drop-in recreation will always take precedence. Do you have group fitness classes? What other classes are available? |
|
Yes, and all of our basic classes are free to students and members! Classes are scheduled daily and include Spinning, Step, Cardio-Kickboxing, Pilates, ZUMBA and many others. Please refer to the current schedule for class times and descriptions. Other Instructional classes will be available throughout the semester so check the website for more information. |

What equipment is available for check out? |
|
A variety of equipment is available for free daily check out with ID card including basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, racquetball and, table tennis paddles and jump ropes. |

What is the policy regarding Food, Beverage, Tobacco and gum? |
|
Food and beverages purchased at the Nickel may be consumed in the Nickel area ONLY. Water in a plastic bottle with a lid is permitted throughout the recreation facility. No food or drink is permitted on the gym courts, aquatics area or fitness rooms. |

Can I bring my Bikes/Pets/Roller Blades to the Recreation Center? |
|
Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates or pets are not permitted inside the Falcon Center. For your convenience, bicycle racks are available outside the facility, and skates should be stored in lockers. Only working companion animals are permitted in the building. |

Can I post signs or announcements within the facility? |
|
Any request to post signs in the Falcon Center must be directed to the Director or Assistant Director for approval based upon content and message. No handwritten signs will be approved. Please have a copy of your produced sign with you when making your request. |

Is soliciting allowed within the facility? |
|
Soliciting is not permitted inside the Falcon Center. Organizations wishing to conduct promotional activities must schedule and pay for space by calling the Director of Falcon Center to conduct fundraising or promotional activities. |

Can I take pictures or video inside the facility? |
|
Approval must be obtained by Director or Assistant Director of the Facility. Some groups may be offended by being filmed. |
|
What is the layout of the Aquatic Center? |
|
Our pool has a multi-use design incorporating four 25 yard lap lanes, areas for instruction and leisure swimming. Because this is not a competition pool, the water temperature will be a bit warmer, better suiting the variety of users. In addition, the aquatic center features a hot water spa and sauna. |

What are the Aquatic Center Hours? |

What aquatic programs will be offered? |
|
As with all areas, the interests and needs of our members will drive the types of programs that we offer. We offer youth and adult Learn-To-Swim classes, water aerobics, and lifeguard training. |

Who is eligible for Intramural Sports? |
|
All students registered at Fairmont State University & Pierpont Technical Community College, who are assessed the recreational fee (or have at least 1 class on the main campus), are eligible to participate in intramural sport programs. Staff and faculty members are also eligible to participate in intramurals and must show a valid Falcon Center ID to enter the facility and verify eligibility. |

How much does it cost to play intramurals? |
|
There are no team or individual entry fees for any intramural activities. |
|
How do I sign-up for intramurals? |
|
You can either fill out a form located at the Intramural bulletin board on the first floor of the Falcon Center or attend an Intramural meeting (every Tuesday during the semester). Forms are also located on the Intramural web page. |

Can facility members from the community participate in intramural sports? |
|
Only FSU & PCTC Students, Faculty and Staff may participate in the intramural sports programs. Facility members from the community are not eligibile to particaipte in intramural sports. |
