Faculty Mentoring - Selection Process, Acceptance and Compensation

The Selection Process

Applications are due by 4:00 pm on April 8, 2006. The review process will begin immediately and appointments will be announced in May. A committee consisting of the Vice President for Academic Services, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Fairmont State University, the Provost of Pierpont Community and Technical College, and the Director of Learning Technologies will review the applications.

Once Accepted

After being accepted into the Mentorship Program participants will be required to:

  1. Complete the Online Instructional Strategies for Teaching with WebCT/Vista course.
  2. Provide times available for consulting with faculty members seeking advice or assistance with WebCT/Vista tools.
  3. Continue to improve own abilities by attending relevant training and workshops provided by Fairmont State University.
  4. Schedule time in the Learning Technologies Center to assist with training sessions and individual faculty consulting.

Compensation Information

Participants in the FSU and Pierpont CTC Mentorship Program will receive compensation of a course overload for each semester of participation in the program.
