Training

Grantees will also be required to complete training for (or show competency in) online course development. This includes aspects of a quality online course and how to use Blackboard Vista 4, the online course management system adopted by the colleges. Appropriate training will include four days of extensive hands-on Vista 4 training. Note that:

• additional appropriate stipends will be provided for attending the training
• prior successful completion of a campus approved Blackboard Vista 4 training class is acceptable

As the online course is developed, regularly scheduled work sessions with Learning Technologies center staff and faculty mentors will be required to ensure access to technical and instructional design assistance.

Required Training

Grant recipients receiving awards for the development of a summer course are required to attend training on one of the following sessions:

  • Sat. February 7, 2009
  • Sat. March 7, 2009
  • Sat. April 4, 2009
  • Sat. May 2, 2009

 

In addition, you will be required to take the six-week online course, "Introduction to Online Learning".  This course will run from Feb. 9 - March 27 (with the week of March 16-22 off for spring break).
