The Selection Process

The review process will begin immediately after the grant submission deadline and all awards will be announced shortly thereafter. A committee consisting of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Fairmont State University, the President of Fairmont State Community and Technical College, and the Director of Learning Technologies will review proposals.

All proposals will be evaluated upon their individual merit; however grant propsals that directly address the points enumerated below are favored.

Specifically, proposals will be favored that:

  • Assist in the college initiative of having a general studies degree program completely delivered online (see FSCTC 2005-2006 Catalog, p. 27)
  • Include courses for certification programs
  • Bring new audiences to Fairmont State University and Fairmont Community and Technical College offerings
  • Develop programs with potentially wide target audiences
  • Develop self-paced/competency based courses
