MINUTES OF FACULTY SENATE
October 12, 2004
303 Education Building
12:30 PM

Senate President Allen Colebank called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. in Room 303 in the Education, Health Careers, and Family and Consumer Sciences Building.  The following members were present:

Allen, Berryhill, M. Bond, S. Bond, Burns, Baur, Cable, Colebank, Hansen, Harvey, Jones, Kelley, Tacy for Kiefer, Kirk, Kisner, Moore, Patterson, Poland, Richardson, Riesen, Savage, Schaupp, Sprowls, White, Wilson, and Young.

The September 14, 2004 minutes were approved as presented.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Connie Moore  announced that there will be a combined meeting of the HEPC with the ACF and C&T College Council to send forward a proposal of concerns for higher education.  Deborah Kisner moved to endorse the proposal, seconded by Tia Richardson.  Motion passed.

OLD BUSINESS

Jeff Poland made a motion to remove from the table the adjustments to the Constitution, second by Sue Kelley.  Motion carried.   Motion by Rick Harvey to approve the amendments to the constitution as provided by the Executive committee of Faculty Senate, second by Poland.  Motion carried fifteen to eight.

Motion by Harvey to create a committee to clean up document amendments to reflect legislative requirements and to make adjustments to the language, seconded by Poland.  Motion carried.  Committee member are:  R. Harvey, A. Colebank, M. Bond, and G. Hansen.

NEW BUSINESS

Motion by Sue Kelley to approve the Faculty Rank Proposal for first reading, second by Connie Moore.  Motion carried.

OPEN FORUM

A discussion on summer school salaries took place.

Meeting adjourned 1:30 p.m.
