Classified Staff Council
Minutes for March 18, 2004
Present: Harriet Bower, Joyce Rose, Jennifer Weist, Sandy Shiver and Diana Phillips
Joyce Rose gave a report on the security council. The parking garage is schedule to open the end of April. The security council will do a night-time walk through. Every exit will have security cameras and there will be a minimum of 12 emergency phones. Parking will be around the clock due to the dorms and the top level will be faculty and staff only. There will be new uniforms for police and parking attendants. There will be no police officers on campus during breaks. Physical plant employees will be trained in safety matters.
Classified Staff Council has been asked to sponsor the Roger Rousseau memorial fund. We are accepting idea and working with Sarah Sandolfini about possible fund raisers.
The Health Fair will be April 20, 2004 from 9am to 2pm in Colebank Gym. Open enrollment is from 4/5/04 thru 5/7/04.
Discussion on the four year/two year split and how it pertains to the classified staff council. Diana Phillips will check with Steve Leach about talking to Bruce Walker for clarification.
The council needs to hold elections for the open seats.
Classified staff council will meet with the Board of Governor’s on April 8, 2004.
Sandy Shriver gave an up-date on the legislative bills.
