Meeting Minutes

January 27, 2005

PRESENT:   Diana Phillips, Beverly Jones, Harriet Bowers, Ann Lester, Louella Rennie

 

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER:     We plan to do a fundraiser again this year by selling raffle tickets for three parking passes.   We will do this earlier than last year, which will be in March and April, before faculty are gone for the summer.   The balance in our fund is $3,000.   Last year‘s profit was

 

Diana will talk to Jennifer Weist to see if the C &TC council would like to join in this fundraiser. 

 

We will award two scholarships, for $250 each semester, each student, total of $1,000 for the year.

 

This is awarded to a full-time student, spouse or employee of Fairmont State.

 

ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE SUBCOMMITTEE:    Classified are being selected for these subcommittees.   We need representatives for the classified staff on these subcommittees.

 

CLASSIFIED STAFF POSITIONS:    Discussion developed regarding changes in classified positions.

 

NEW RECREATION CENTER IS OPEN:    The new facility was discussed.

 

BUDGET CUTS:    The President has asked for input from Classified for next year.   He plans to meet with several groups at FSU for ideas.

 

Diana and Bev met with the President on December 16th and gave him a list of ideas.   He will review the list for consideration.  A concern is of any lay-offs and how this will affect 1039 employees or Kelly Services employees.  Outsourcing and consulting was concerning. 

 

XEROX:   The Xerox services were discussed.  Are we also outsourcing to Fairmont Printing Services?

 

WORK ADVISORY GROUP FOR SERIES 8 REVISION:   The meeting was held in Charleston on January 6th.  Attending from Fairmont State were Ann Lester, Kim DeMeester, Annette Schorr and Sandy Shriver. 

 

Ann Lester gave an update of their first meeting and a list of some issues.
