Since its inception twenty years ago, the Honors Program has asked students to complete a six-hour senior project that allows them to study independently a topic in which they are interested. 2 Million Minutes: A Global Examination of Educational Priorities

Tuesday, August 19th

12:00 – 1:30 PM

Board Room Falcon Center

This film takes a deep look at how the three superpowers of the 21st Century - China, India, and the United States - are preparing their students for the future. As we follow two students from each of these countries, we compose a global snapshot of education, from the viewpoint of kids preparing for their futures. The goal is to tell the broader story of the universal importance of education today, and address what many are calling a crisis for U.S. schools regarding chronically low scores in math and science inidicators. A discussion will follow this 54 minute movie.
