3-Day Beginning Lumber Grading Short Course
ASK YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS...
• Do I know the practical application of the Rules in the NHLA
Rules Book?
• Do I know the difference between net tally and gross tally?
• Do I know the grading rules for kiln-dried lumber?
• Would being able to answer “yes” to all of these questions make me more “rules conscious,” give me a better sense of the value of the lumber I handle, and make me more valuable as an employee?
If you don’t know the answer to any or all of these questions, you will want to join us for this Beginning Lumber Grading Short Course.
The value of “rules conscious” employees is a more carefully manufactured product, a more profitable yield from the log, and a better sense of the value of the lumber being handled. This three-day workshop will include a thorough study and explanation of the NHLA Rules Book, emphasizing the basics of hardwood lumber inspection.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Anyone wanting to become familiar with the lumber grading rules and process. This popular workshop gives yardmen, sawyers, edgermen, sales and office staff, and management-level personnel an introduction
to lumber inspection. Jamie Barnett, NHLA Approved Instructor, will serve as the instructor for the course. Jamie is the instructor for the 14-Week Inspection Training Course at the WV Wood Technology
Center.
