Morrow, Steven
Assistant Professor of Mathematics
B.S. University of Rochester
M.A. Wayne State University
Ph.D. Indiana University

Dr. Morrow earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rochester and worked designing machinery for 7 years in Sterling Heights, MI.  He enjoyed working on theoretical problems the most, so he decided to pursue an academic career.  He finished a Master’s degree in mathematics from Wayne State University in Detroit, and then went on to a doctoral program at Indiana University.  He finished my Ph.D. in mathematics in 2012 with a concentration in probability.

What have you learned while teaching at Fairmont State?:

At Fairmont State I really enjoy the variety of students in my classes.  There are so many degree programs, even within the Technology area.  It is exciting for me to interact with students who will be future engineers, chemists, architects, mathematicians, and computer scientists.  I also enjoy describing many of my experiences as an engineer to students who may not typically get that perspective from their non-engineering professors

What do your students like best about your class?:

Students have told me they enjoy my ability to explain complicated topics clearly and patiently.
