Biography:
I was born in Huntington, son of Larry and Linda Pittman, and raised in Ona, W.Va., only 10 minutes away. My mother gave birth to me on January 20, 1986, to be the youngest of three; Matt is the eldest and Meghan fills in the trio. I attended Cabell Midland High School, and there, I was the Student Body President my senior year and graduated Valedictorian. I lettered in track four years and lettered in football three years.
Why did you choose to attend Fairmont State?:
I transferred to Fairmont State from WVU Tech the spring semester of my freshman year to continue my football career. In addition to small classes, Fairmont State’s science department is among the best in the state and I knew here I could receive adequate preparation for dental school. Also, all of the improvements to Fairmont State’s campus, like the Falcon Center and Bryant Place, attracted me here.
What do you like best about Fairmont State?:
Most importantly, the student life on campus has given me the opportunity to make many new lifelong friends. Organizations like Baptist Campus Ministries and Campus Light, in addition to the residence halls, have allowed me to meet all kinds of people. The student life along makes Fairmont State an excellent place for my college experience.
