Biography: 
Kirk joined the FSU faculty in 2000. He is a registered architect and holds NCARB certification. He has degrees from Central Florida Community College (A.S.), Santa Fe Community College (A.A.), University of West Florida (B.S.), Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (M.Arch.). Kirk teaches courses in Architecture, Urban Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD. His primary interest areas in architecture are sacred space and how architecture relates to and affects the environment. Kirk enjoys being fully present with his wife and two sons. His favorite hobbies are ultralight backpacking and reading. He finished walking the Appalachian Trail in 2000 but has yet to finish “Ulysses.”
What have you learned while teaching at Fairmont State?: 
I've learned that I don't have to take myself seriously to be serious about my craft.
What do students like best about your class?: 
My evaluations indicate that students appreciate my passion for the subject.
