Student success is the by-product of improved educational programs and services. The Title III Grant, Strengthening Institutional Programs, was awarded to Fairmont State so that Learning Communities could be established and promoted. Learning communities facilitate institutional missions at Fairmont State.
Defined as a curricular approach to link courses around an interdisciplinary theme among a common group of students, learning communities serve to address institutional efforts of quality education and quality of life. Learning Communities allow for the development of mutually beneficial partnerships and are a setting where common ground can be found among academic disciplines and between academic affairs and student affairs.
This site gives you access to information about learning communities, the Title III grant, funding sources for creating and promoting learning communities, and the Title III office calendar of events.
