Snodgrass One-room Schoolhouse Museum

With the establishment of the West Virginia Free Schools, the Snodgrass School ceased to operate as a subscription school and became part of the district school system, under the authority of the Board of Education.  The school ceased operation entirely sometime before 1950, and in 1962 was moved to the campus of Fairmont State College as a West Virginia Centennial project.  (Excerpt from the program booklet used at the 1992 Dedication of The Snodgrass One-Room Schoolhouse Museum, October 30, 1992, Fairmont State College)
