Certified technicians are required to attain Technical Development Hours (TDH’s) in order to advance to a higher certification level.  The requirement showing the number of TDH’s necessary for advancement can be found in the Rules and Regulations. Use the Rule’s and Regulations link on the right side of this page to access that information.

In general, if a course has an end of the course exam it may count for advancement.  After August 2002, only those courses approved by the Board and included in the approved list will be credited for advancement.  The Board will consider additional courses for advancement if a timed agenda, course material, instructor credentials, and a sample of the end-of-course exam is provided.

Please be advised that a certification fee of $130 is required to process your certification application.  Some employers such as the WV DOH will pay this fee for their employees.
