ACCOUNTING PARAPROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This program prepares students to perform bookkeeping functions in business offices. These functions could include payroll, accounts payable/receivable, purchase orders, inventory control records, and sales records. Both traditional and non-traditional students desiring to gain skills specifically applicable to the growing accounting profession will benefit from the program. This Certificate provides an opportunity for individuals to gain employable skills in a short-term, industry-focused skill set. It also provides an appropriate lead-in for students to pursue an associate or bachelor degree in accounting or general business
JOB OPPORTUNITIES
This certificate provides individuals currently working in this profession the opportunity to gain additional skills that are beneficial for job advancement. It also provides individuals who are not currently working in the profession the opportunity to gain new skills that would greatly enhance their employability. Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions in business and industry as accounting clerks and accounting assistants.
