Fairmont State University sits on a graceful 90-acre campus on a hill with lovely views of wooded hills. And you should see the sunsets.

We’re located in Fairmont, West Virginia, the county seat of Marion County. This is a safe, friendly town of 20,000, filled with history and folklore. (Ask about the ghost tales of Ruth Ann Musick sometime.) Fairmont is also noted for being the home of the original pepperoni roll, the inaugural celebration of Father’s Day, Olympic Champion Mary Lou Retton, and Johnnie Johnson, the “father” of rock and roll and Fairmont State honorary degree recipient.

Our campus is currently experiencing something of a renaissance. In addition to our classic historical buildings, like the iconic Hardway Hall, you’ll also see a new parking garage, brand-new student housing, a new student activity center, and more. This mix of old and new says a lot about Fairmont State. This is a place grounded in the past with its eyes firmly fixed on the future.
