Academic Programs: Fairmont State University offers 85 baccalaureate majors and graduate programs in nursing, education and criminal justice. Pierpont Community & Technical College offers 50 associate degrees, certificate degrees and skill-set certificates.

Financial Aid: Approximately 80 percent of Fairmont State students receive some form of scholarship or financial aid.

Activities: More than 86 clubs, organizations, student publications, honoraries, sororities and fraternities and intramural sports.

Athletics: Fairmont State is a member of the NCAA Division II and the West Virginia Inercollegiate Athletics Conference.

Distinctions

  • Since 1997, Fairmont State faculty have had two winners in the West Virginia Faculty Merit Foundation Professor of the Year competition.Fairmont State was the first school in the country to offer a four-track associate's degree in Homeland Security.
  • The Fairmont State chemistry department places 100 percent of its students applying to graduate programs at schools such as Northwestern and UNC-Chapel Hill.
  • Our Physical Therapist Assistant Program boasts a 100 percent board passage rate and job placement.
