10-Year Facilities Master Plan

Most of the major building projects as part of the 10-Year Facilities Master Plan – our new student center called the Falcon Center, our new residence hall called Bryant Place and the parking garage – were finished in the first five years, 2001-2005. The plan was updated in 2006 to set goals for the next five years through 2011. Working on the spaces between the buildings to make them more accessible and more visually appealing are prime elements of the plan. The goal is to open up the interior of campus to make it more pedestrian-friendly and to push traffic to the perimeter of campus.

Here is more information on two of our current construction projects:

Engineering Technology Building

Construction began in June 2006 on the new $15 million building. The project involves extensive renovation of the existing two-story Technology Wing of Wallman Hall. The new structure will “clear span” the existing two-floor building. Two floors and about 40,000 square feet will be added to the existing building, which has 40,000 square feet. The new building should open in early 2008. The new facility will house programs for drafting, graphics and mechanical, civil and electrical engineering technology and safety and environmental engineering technology. It will feature two large lecture rooms and about 12 smaller laboratory classrooms.
