FAIRMONT STATE WEB POLICIES -
The Fairmont State web site is an official publication of Fairmont State University. The Office of Web and Graphic Communications is responsible for overseeing the style and content of the Home Page, as well as official pages provided by academic and administrative departments that are linked to the Home Page, and for assuring that the pages present accurate information and a consistent image of the University.
The major goal of the Fairmont State web site is to provide internal and external visitors with a convenient source of accurate and timely information and to encourage and enhance the use of information technology for teaching and learning.
As with all external communications, Fairmont State's presence on the World Wide Web should promote a positive image of the college to other educational institutions, accrediting agencies, funding agencies, the media, current and prospective students as well as their families, and the public.
The World Wide Web is a resource that allows Fairmont State to promote its activities and educational opportunities to a local, regional, national and even international audience that includes prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends of the Fairmont State and others, and to enhance research, scholarship and instruction both within the institutions and the wider community.
Purpose
Fairmont State encourages all academic service departments and units, administrative departments, and the Student Government to publish information on the WWW to accomplish these purposes.
