Welcome

As Chief Information Officer, I am pleased to introduce you to the services provided under the Information Technology umbrella at Fairmont State University.  Our operations are divided into the following seven areas, each headed by a Director.

Fairmont State Libraries  - encompasses all libraries and library resources available on the main campus in Fairmont, as well as satellite campuses in Clarksburg and outlying areas.
Thelma Hutchins, Director

Internal Applications - business systems, primarily SCT Banner, that support all administrative functions including student services, human resources, finance, management reporting, financial aid, and student registration.
Neil Tennant, Director

External Applications - e-learning applications, primarily WebCT/VISTA, and various teaching & learning technologies that either stand alone or are integrated with WebCT/VISTA and the overall e-learning environment.
Kelly Pryor, Director

IT Solution Center - primary end-user support for students/faculty/staff (desktops, labs), as well as providing multi-media and classroom technologies.
Jody Perry, Director

Networks, Servers and Security - responsible for the management of the IT infrastructure, including the Fairmont State data center, all servers, backups, security, network and bandwidth management, connectivity, and telecommunications (voice and data).
David Tamm, Director

Project Management Office (PMO) - responsible for coordinating activities across multiple areas of the institution to achieve efficiency of execution in both IT and institutional planning and project deliverables.
Peter Wilkins, Director

Learning Technologies Center (LTC) - provides direct support to faculty in leveraging innovation and operational use of e-learning tools & systems in the classroom and in distance learning initiatives.
Roxann Humbert, Director

Our work is also supported by an executive secretary, Ms. Joyce Rose, and more than 35 additional employees in the areas above. 

An Information Technology Advisory Committee of faculty, administrators, and other campus stakeholders provides regular feedback on our operations.
