| 1. Develop therapeutic goals for respiratory therapy appropriate for patient care. |
1) written examinations |
1) score 75% or better |
| 2. Perform patient care in a clinical setting in accordance with AARC(American Association of Respiratory Care) guidelines for patient care (GPCs). |
1) Clinical competency lab check-offs |
1) pass/fail, repeat until skill is performed correctly without prompting 2) score 75% or better 3) Score 3 or higher on a scale of 1-5 for Overall Grade |
| 3. Meet or exceed the minimum expectations of the NBRC certification examinations for a Registered Respiratory Therapist. |
1) Comprehensive Written Registry Self-Assessment Exam administered through the NBRC |
1) Score 55% or better as determined by the National Board of Respiratory Care and the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care 2) greater than 80% pass rate on first attempt on CRT exam or greater than 50% pass rate on RRT exams. |
| 4. Demonstrate professional behavior in the field of respiratory care. | 1) Clinical evaluations by preceptors 2) Internship Non-clinical Evaluation by preceptor 3) Community Service Project hours 4) Community Service Project evaluation |
